The scope of orthotics available in health services and privately is varied and it is worth discussing what is available during your consultation with Sterling Physiotherapy.

Functional Electical Stimulation(FES) for foot drop and other problems

FES is a means of producing contractions in muscles, paralysed due to central nervous system lesions, by means of electrical stimulation. Most effective in stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury, cerebral palsy and multiple Sclerosis. The electrical stimulation is applied either by skin surface electrodes in Sterling Physiotherapy and surgically in various hospital/rehab settings.
