Mobilisation with Movement - Sterling Physiotherapy

This is a recent approach, first developed in the 70’s but taken more seriously in New Zealand. Now the approach has caught on world wide and is considered so effective physiotherapists join a waiting list to learn this considerably successful technique.

It involves the patient performing a movement, whilst the physiotherapist assists the movement by performing a specific directional and sustained glide to improve the position of muscles and joints. It can have a dramatic effect on range of motion and therefore recovery.

It is effective in the joints of the spine, upper limbs and lower limbs.

There is a huge amount of literature on this topic and it is well worthwhile tocheck on the internet. Visit the Mulligan Concept website for more information.
